Plans to restore the historic Hotel Pontotoc, located at 69 Pontotoc Ave., into a boutique hotel and restaurant are underway.
Memphis-based cnct design plans to convert the basement of the building into a restaurant and renovate the existing rooms in the building for use as a boutique hotel.
An additional enclosed outdoor area located west of the building is included in the design, according to the design application.
In April 2022, developers Joseph Lewis and Tony Kuhn of 69 Pontotoc LLC bought the 11,000-square-foot building for $1.2 million.
In September 2022, 69 Pontotoc LLC was awarded a $60,000 exterior improvement grant for the renovation project from the Center City Development Corp., an affiliate board of the Downtown Memphis Commission.
